Punch Coordinates are Incorrect despite Print Console Settings

  checkbox.gif (459 bytes)  Tested   uncheckbox.gif (229 bytes)  Not Tested

Applies to

Print Console 2.0 (2.0.0.34 build for Beta)

Problem

Punch coordinates in PPX file do not match punch values displayed on the Optional tab of the Media Sizes pane.

Background

Sometimes, the punch coordinates for both proofs and plates in the PPX files are incorrect even when the Punch Coordinates in the Media Sizes pane display as expected (middle of leading for plates, middle of trailing for proofs).

For example, create a new media size in the Media Sizes pane. In the Print Console\bin directory open the .ppx file. The punch coordinates in the .ppx file for the new media read as zero.

Workaround

After entering the correct punch coordinates on the Media Sizes pane and pressing the Apply button:
  1. In the Media Sizes pane, click the Optional tab, then click the General tab again. The arrow on the horizontal pane changes to red.
  2. Click Apply.
  3. Check the .ppx file from the Print Console\bin directly. Punch coordinates should display correctly.

Permanent Fix

No permanent fix at this time. It may be fixed in Print Console 2.1.
