Cannot Establish Communications between Delta and Device |
|---|
Applies to |
Print Console 1.x (may apply to Print Console 2.x if Delta becomes qualified) when connected to Delta and driving a Trendsetter Spectrum. |
Problem |
Cannot establish communications with device. Problem occurs intermittently for no obvious reason. |
Background |
Delta, when running with Print Console 1.0, cannot handle more than 32 Pantone colors in Print Console's Proof Color Mapping table, nor can these colors have filenames longer than 32 characters. For some reason, the large number of pantone colors and long filenames will not let Print Console initialize. The only message you get is that communication to the Trendsetter could not be established. Although this is a Delta bug, it is documented here in case the customer contacts Creo first thinking it is a problem with Print Console or the device. |
Workaround |
In the Print Console Proof Color Mapping dialog box, reduce the number of Pantone colors to 32, or reduce the filename(s) to 32 characters. |
Permanent Fix |
No permanent fix currently available. |
