Screen2Go Files Occasionally Fail in Print Console Hot Folders

Product

  • Print Console 2.1
  • Brisque 3.0
  • Screen2Go

Platform

Intel

Operating system

Windows 2000 or Windows NT4

Symptoms

Sometimes—if the network is busy or if Brisque takes a long time to write raster to the TIFF file in the hot folder—Print Console will move Screen2Go files to the pending queue and flag them as invalid TIFF files.

Cause

In this release of Print Console, the hot folder settings are set to scan for new files every 1 second, and the file stabilization setting is set to 1 second.

Solution

  1. If Print Console is not running, start it.
  2. Click Configuration.
  3. Click Hot Folders to open the Hot Folders pane.
  4. Select a hot folder in the left-hand window: the associated settings appear on the right side of the pane.
  5. In the Time Settings For All Folders box, do the following:
    1. In the Scan for new files every <n> seconds box, type 10.
    2. In the File stabilization time every <n> seconds box, type 60.
Note: The new settings you enter apply to all hot folders in Print Console. Hot folders cannot be set up individually.
  6. Click Apply.

Note: These changes will take effect while Print Console is running.
