Print Console 2.1 installer crashes during copying of files, error message “Component MoveData failed” displays

Product

  • Print Console 2.1.x
  • Prinergy 2.x

Platform

Intel

Operating system

Windows 2000

Error

“Component MoveData failed” (Error: -115)

Symptoms

When you try to install Print Console 2.1 on a system that is running Prinergy 2.x, the error message noted above displays.

Cause

Error 115 indicates that a file is in use by another application. In this case, the file xerces.dll is in use by Prinergy, which causes the Print Console installation to abort.

Solution

Before installing Print Console 2.1 on a system that is running Prinergy, you must stop Prinergy using Prinergy Administrator on the server on which you are installing Print Console. (Prinergy Administrator is installed as part of Prinergy Server and runs on primary and secondary servers.)

To stop Prinergy Server using Prinergy Administrator:

  1. Log on to a Prinergy server as an administrator.
You must have administrator privileges in order to user Prinergy Administrator. If you have not logged on to the system using an account with administrator privileges, you will be prompted to log on with an appropriate account when Prinergy Administrator is launched.
  2. From the Windows 2000 Start menu, select Programs > Prinergy > Prinergy Administrator. Prinergy Administrator displays.
  3. From the File menu, select Stop Prinergy. The Stop Prinergy dialog box displays.
  4. In the Stop Prinergy dialog box, select the desired server by name to stop Prinergy on that server.
  5. In the Reason for shutdown box, type the reason for stopping Prinergy (optional). This information is logged in the Windows Application Event Log for troubleshooting.
  6. Click Stop Prinergy. Prinergy may take a moment to shut down.

After you stop Prinergy, install Print Console 2.1 using the usual installation procedure.
