Kodak Magnus^™ VLF GMCE platesetters with Print Console 4.x and Prinergy 3.1

Symptoms

• Trouble starting the Printer JTP: If a render station is stopped for any reason, the PrintConsole JTP will not restart.
• Very slow response from the UADM: Starting or stopping any process on any Prinergy server is very slow.

Cause

This is caused by a change in the network binding order when the GMCE card is installed. If the GMCE card is first in the binding order, Orbacus binds to the GMCE card instead of the local area network. Print Console attempts to talk to the primary server through the GMCE card and fails to start.

Solution

Configure the network connections so that the Local Area Connection comes before the GMCE Connection. See page 6 of GMCE Intel Pro/1000 MT Server Adapter: Installation, Configuration and Testing for the procedure.
