Cause 1: Blockage in the debris removal collection nozzle.
Solution: Check the nozzle for obstructions (such as a slipsheet) and remove.
Cause 2: Leak in the debris collection hose.
Solution: Check the debris collection hose for leaks (cracks in the hose or poor connections). Check the entire length between the nozzle and the cabinet.
Cause 3: Leak in the pressure sensor lines.
Solution:
- Check all sensor tubes for kinks/ holes and for poor connections, especially the 2 connections from the UDRC-L electronics enclosure to the UDRC bulkhead. These one-touch fittings may look like they are connected, but actually require a lot more force to be properly seated.
- Check the nozzle pressure tap and nozzle pressure sensor tubes.
- Check the UDRC backpack sensor connections.
- Check the UDRC bellmouth connection (below the screen at the bottom of the filter pot).
Cause 4: Dirty debris collection nozzle, causing blockage of the pressure tap hole.
Solution: All debris collection nozzles have a tiny pressure tap hole that may become clogged. Typically this will appear as a low flow in the collection nozzle rather than the bellmouth (UDRC-L) flow sensor. Please refer to the cleaning instructions in TechPlanet.
Cause 5: Incorrect software parameter settings.
Solution: Check the look up tables on page 1 of Debris Removal Firmware Guide-Parameter Values, Descriptions and Flowchart (750-00001A) for all the current values, especially the following parameters:
- nfc (nozzle_flow_constant)
- nfe (nozzle_flow_exponent)
- bfc (bellmouth_flow_constant)
- bfe (bellmouth_flow_exponent)
- fmaxdiff (flow_max_diff)
- nst (nozzle_sensor_type)
Cause 6: If the particulate filter is new and the difference between the flows at the nozzle and bellmouth are greater than 14 SCMH, then the sensors may be connected incorrectly.
Solution:
- Remove the UDRC-L electronics enclosure and check that the 0-10" sensor is plugged into AN1 and the 0-100" sensor is plugged into AN2.
- Reseat the 3 connectors AN1, AN2 and AN3.
- Check that the larger (clear) sensing hose is connected (via a Y-junction) to the LOW port of the 0-100" sensor and the HIGH port of 0-10" sensor.
- Check that the smaller hose (small blue expanded to big clear hose) is connected to the LOW port of the 0-10" sensor.
Cause 7: The debris removal nozzle may have a machining intolerance that requires re-calibration.
Solution: This is only applicable upon installation of a new UDRC-L configuration, and needs to be escalated to the PSM for the UDRC. If this is the real problem, the difference between the nozzle and bellmouth should be just slightly beyond the acceptable flow difference (see flow max difference software parameter). The PSM will give alternate nozzle calibration constants, provided all other possible leaks have been checked. This problem typically results in a nozzle flow reading higher than the bellmouth (UDRC-L) flow.
Cause 8: Manufacturing defect of the UDRC-L electronics backpack cable (rare).
Solution: On the 25-pin UDRC bulkhead connector from the backpack, make sure that there is a wire loop connecting pins 16 and 3.
If the wire loop is missing or disconnected, replace or reconnect the wire. |
