The debris removal system removes airborne emissions released by media when exposed to high power laser energy during imaging. To see how debris may be deposited when a debris removal system is not installed, view the "life before debris removal" photos.
Morgan Cabinet | Universal Debris Removal Cabinet (UDRC)
UDRC Configurations | Differences Between UDRC-B and UDRC-L Cabinets
The Universal Debris Removal Cabinet is designed to collect the particulate and gaseous emissions resulting from the exposure of certain types of printing media. It is part of a Debris Removal System (DRS) consisting of:
The UDRC is available in four configurations of cabinet type and filter type:
UDRC - BP (formerly UDRC-B) [Diagram]
- For use with regular thermal plates such as Kodak Thermal Gold and Kodak Sword Excel. These plates produce particulate debris only, no chemical emissions.
- Base model cabinet shipped with all Kodak Trendsetters, Trendsetter VLFs, Magnus 400/800 Quantum and Lotem Quantum output devices.
- Trendsetter NEWS and Lotem 800FH devices can be upgraded in the field, but are not factory equipped.
- This is a backward-compatible replacement for the Morgan cabinet.
UDRC - BP with external ventilation
- Eliminates the need for a chemical filter by venting the gaseous emissions outside the building.
- Standard shipping configuration on all Thermoflex devices and Trendsetter NX devices.
- Mandatory upgrade for Trendsetter Spectrum customers wishing to use the Matchprint Digital Imaging Media.
- For use with:
- Flexo plates such as DuPont Cyrel and BASF.
Note: Flexo plates produce both particulate and gaseous emissions.- Kodak Flexcel NX Thermal Imaging Layer on Trendsetter NX and Matchprint Digital Imaging Media (Volcano film) on Trendsetter Spectrum. These media produce both particulate and gaseous emissions.
UDRC – HP [Diagram]
- High flow option for the base (BP) cabinet, for output devices with dual imaging heads.
- Optional equipment for Trendsetter NEWS 200 and TSC NEWS (Japanese Newspaper OEM engine).
UDRC - BF [Diagram]
- For use with Flexo plates such as DuPont Cyrel and BASF. Flexo plates produce both particulate and gaseous emissions.
- This is a backward-compatible replacement for the Morgan cabinet.
- Available as the indoor exhaust option on Thermoflex devices.
- Contains filters specifically designed for emissions produced by flexographic plates.
UDRC - LC (Offset Media) [Diagram]
- For use with chemistry-free plates such as Presstek Anthem. These plates produce both particulate and gaseous emissions.
- Designed with safety features to ensure that the debris is properly collected and that the allowable filter life is not exceeded. It contains filters specifically designed for emissions produced by chemistry-free plates.
- This cabinet is currently in End of Life.
UDRC - LF (Flexographic Plates and Film) [Diagram]
- For use with Flexo plates such as DuPont Cyrel and BASF. Flexo plates produce both particulate and gaseous emissions.
- Designed with safety features to ensure that the debris is properly collected and that the allowable filter life is not exceeded. It contains filters specifically designed for emissions produced by flexographic plates.
- This cabinet is currently in End of Life.
