Product |
Thermal 1.0/1.7 head |
Component |
Firmware |
Symptoms |
After you upgraded your thermal head firmware, edge detect no longer works. |
Cause |
TH1.x firmware v1.85 and later uses focus overdrive during edge detect. If overdrive is not initialized correctly when you upgrade from an earlier firmware version, edge detect will not work. |
Solution |
Head firmware upgrade scripts should automatically perform the initialization. However, if the scripts fail, or if you upgrade manually, you can initialize the parameters yourself. If you are using an MPE device, check your thermal module version first. To do this, type >> list version, and look for the line: Thermal software version. This is your thermal module version. On MCE platforms, or MPE platforms with thermal module 4.06 or higher, type: On all other MPE platforms, except the 3244 Platesetter, type: On the 3244 Platesetter, type: Edge detect should now function normally. |
