Spectrum devices with stroke cal and scorr table errors

Product

Spectrum devices with a Thermal 1.X head.

Error

  • 17671 HEAD: SCORR out of range
  • 17732 HEAD: Unable to balance stroke to better than head bpmaxerr %

Cause

There is a problem with the stroke width (swidth) adjustment. Previous versions of MCE and MPE firmware automatically adjusted swidth (for example, Dupont and Fuji media require an swidth of 216 for their overwriting pattern). The latest controlled release firmware has removed that functionality. This applies to the following versions:

  • MCE CR5.4
  • MPE CR4.0
  • MPE Firmware 1.74 and 1.75

Solution

Adjust swidth manually using the command set hdm [x] swidth [y]where x is the Spectrum media slot and y is the required swidth.

Note: You can ignore the warning.
>> set hdm [x] swidth [y]
