Devices using MPE firmware 2.55 and 2.56 with the sys wjo parameter.

Symptoms

Swaths of missing or corrupted data appear intermittently at a specified distance (defined by the wjo parameter) from the home or away edge of the plate.

The width of the artifact is one swath.

Note: the above pictures are oriented such that up = around the drum direction.

Cause

The implementation of the wjo parameter caused artifacts at the point of enabling and disabling the whisker jet. A wjo parameter of 500 would result in an artifact at 12.7 mm.

Solution

1. Set the parameter sys wjo to 0.
2. Check the whisker jet pressure.
