Troubleshooting information

Possible cause

There is a hard-coded 60 second timeout that applies when doing a stroke cal.

Suggested action

  1. Confirm that verbosity is not set too high. Verbosity should only be increased during troubleshooting and should be disabled afterwards.
Note: Try not to increase the verbosity of multiple subsystems at a time.
  2. Update the bpd holdcurrent. Type:
    TH2 >bpd mode on
    TH2 >ldd mode current 18
  3. Wait for 1 minute. Type:
    TH2 >bpd mode update
    TH2 > laser off
  4. Update the ldd calibrate. Type:
    TH2 > bpd mode on
    TH2 > lvd mode local
    TH2 > ldd calibrate

    You will see the following:
    Turn on the laser (Y/N)?
    Type: y
    Y-Intercept=5.9254 Amps, Slope=1.815 Amps/Watt
    *** Command Success ***
    The beam-pointing has settled!
  5. After the command completes, type:
    TH2 > laser off
  6. Run beambalance.spt and inspect for any areas with reduced margin for beam balance.
  7. Run contrvhv.spt and set hvtrim for the minimum leakage.
  8. Run contrvbp.spt and confirm the minimum leakage beam position.
  9. Run beambalance.spt again and confirm any changes that have improved the beambalance result.
