Cause

The firmware has become corrupted and a subsystem is not available. The media slots have become corrupted after a firmware downgrade.

Solution

Erase and rebuild the nvs.

  1. Run nvsdump.spt.

You will now have a back-up of all the nvs with the exception of the media parameters (which do not show up).

  2. Type: TH2> pot info

    The following appears:

      Index     Name                      Wiper
      -----------------------------------------
      0         Focus Acuator             X*
      1         Beam-pointing Actuator    Y*
      **** Command Success ***
  3. *Where X and Y represent your Wiper settings.

Important:  Write down the above pot settings as they will not be restored by any scripts.

  4. Erase the registry.
    • Type: TH2> reg erase
  5. Select Y to erase the registry.
  6. Erase the Eeprom.
    • Type: TH2> eeprom erase
  7. Select Y to erase the Eeprom.
  8. Reset the head.
    • Type: TH2> reset
  9. Reload the prmparms.txt with the nvsrestore.spt.
  10. Reload the pot settings.
    • Type: TH2> pot write 0 X*
    • Type: TH2> pot write 1 Y*
  11. *This represents the data captured in step 2.

Note:  All your med settings will have been reset to their default values.

  12. Manually re-enter the media settings such as:
    • med name
    • med laserpower
    • med drumspeed
    • med sr
