Perform a beam-balance ( master / slave ) specially designed for calibrating bipolar imaging. Attempting to calibrate bipolar imaging using the standard beam-balance is difficult due to the number of variables involved in the calibration. The solution is to fix one polarity and adjust the other polarity.

| The monitor command bbs balance master (high|low) <piston> will configure the master profile. The master profile will be reduced by the specified beam piston to provide sufficient beam piston for configuration of the slave profile.

| The monitor command bbs balance slave (high|low) <piston> will configure the slave profile. The slave profile will be reduced, without modifying the master profile, to configure the specified beam piston.
|
|
| Note that typically the maximum beam piston will be 30%. Thus the master profile should be reduced by 15% and then the slave profile should be varied from 12% to -12%.
