| On the alpha LVDL satellite board, two DAC's provide the high and low common bias voltage for the light valve. For the beta LVDL satellite boards, one DAC provides both the high and low common bias voltage for the light valve. Note that the LVDU satellite board does not support the common bias voltage.

| The firmware configures the common bias voltage based on the control mode of the light valve driver and the NVS parameters lvd highbias and lvd lowbias. The actual common bias voltage is readback using sense circuitry provided by the satellite board and displayed. Note that the actual common bias voltage will not equal either of the NVS parameters; the NVS parameters are re-scaled for display purposes.
