[01403] Failure verifying the BSDL data / JTAG error(s)

Product

Thermal 3 head

Error

[01403] Failure verifying the BSDL data / JTAG error(s)

Symptoms

The error may occur on the first plot after the device has been sitting idle for a while. For example, the first plot on the first day of the work week.

Cause

The error occurs because a satellite board was not initialized properly.

  • The firmware can detect this and typically resets the board until the satellite board comes online.
  • If this does not occur, the device may have overheated. If the chiller has failed or the chiller water is low, this can also initiate this error.

Solution

  1. Complete a hard reset of the head.
  2. If the head begins functioning normally, continue running and monitor the frequency of error 1403.
  3. If the head does not return to normal function:
    1. Check that the chiller is operational.
    2. Check that the water level in the chiller is correct.
    3. Check that all satelite boards are valid. Type the command Th3>>sat ver and check that all boards are listed as (accepted).
    4. Reset the head until it returns to normal operation or until a replacement is available.
