Symptoms |
Choosing to “Connect via Service Shell”, nothing happens. No progress bar, no dialog, no error message. The browser indicates that it “requires special config on your PC”.
Cause |
This happens after Print Console’s Study Guide and other Training files are installed and you run the Print Console Simulator. To learn Print Console concepts, the “UsePipes” mechanism is turned on so that Print Console will run in simulation or training mode. When you finish using the simulator, the “UsePipes” is left in the “on” state. This prevents Service Shell from modifying the Comm Ports.

Solution |
You need to modify the affected Service Shell registry Key.
This issue is resolved in Service Shell 2.5 with the Host Configuration Wizard. |
