Kodak^® UpFront^® software increases productivity and decreases costly planning errors. It standardizes your production planning by automating and digitizing the traditional process of manually folding paper and creating drawing layouts. With UpFront software, you can quickly plan jobs using the large library of folding dummies or layouts from previously planned jobs. It checks new plans against a database of your press and finishing equipment to ensure the job can be manufactured and then quickly prints accurate job layout documents.
Kodak UpFront software also streamlines your business workflow. It imports job-related information from your CRM/MIS system using JDF; produces printed imposition documents, Preps templates and job files for prepress; stores job data for future reuse; and exports cutting, folding and binding data to the finishing department using JDF/CIP3.

UpFront 4.0 software is a chargeable upgrade for non-full service contract customers. Major new features and significant enhancements included in UpFront 4.0 are listed below.

Planning features & enhancements:

• Place mark relative to page or gutter
• A new marks palette for single point mark access
• Verify marks overlapping pages
• Keep reference points when copying marks
• Zoom in in Press Layout and Layout Plan
• Export diagrams to PDF files

Usability enhancements:

• Single point access for settings and preferences
• Job Builder and Planner now share common settings

Kodak Preps^® integration enhancements:

• Attach an existing Preps signature to a Press Layout
• Keep shingling (creep) settings within a job
