Symptoms |
When you print PostScript from the Prepare QuarkXPress extension or Adobe InDesign plug-in, or send PostScript to the send2prepare printer from other software, the PostScript file disappears and cannot be found. Files never appear in the Prepare print queue. |

Cause |
The problem may have been caused during the initial installation of Prepare, when multiple copies of Prepare were installed on multiple networked computers. For example, suppose that the first user installs Prepare on a networked Macintosh computer, with the printer utility preference Share My Printers or Share These Printers set as the default, which is to always share. Then a second user installs Prepare on a second Macintosh computer on the network. When this second copy of Prepare is started, it finds the first copy's shared send2prepare printer and therefore does not make its own send2prepare printer. When someone tries to use this second copy of Prepare, files never seem to make it into the Prepare print queue and the PostScript file disappears. |

Solution |
Ensure that the send2prepare printer is not shared on any Macintosh computer. If Prepare cannot find a send2prepare printer, it will automatically make one on the local computer. |
