Symptoms

QuarkXPress 7 will not work with the Prepare extension.

Cause

Prepare 2.1 and the Prepare.xnt extension (not Intel native) are not compatible with QuarkXPress 7 (Intel native). Prepare will run successfully with Apple Rosetta software, but the Prepare extension cannot run non-natively inside an Intel native application such as QuarkXPress 7.

Solution

Set up a Prepare hot folder with the desired Prepare preflighting presets, then print QuarkXPress 7 PostScript output to the hot folder.
