PSN 12 - Legato 5.1 Procedure

1. Legato 5.1 procedure:

   The new procedure to obtain Legato enabler codes:

   Enabler codes for Legato enable a certain functionality (server, autochanger for 45 days (=demo license), to allow any installed Legato product to work from day 1. Once the enabler code is entered a permanent license must be requested.

   Until now the enabler codes were supplied by Legato with the software. From now on (ripro 3000, 5000, Backup solution and Legato 5 kits) they are not provided by Legato anymore.

   STE has a database with enabler codes for Networker edition, Autochanger and Archive module.

   If a enabler code is required, it can be provided by STE dispatch, providing SOL and customer name.

   ONLY IF THE SOL OF THE CUSTOMER SHOWS THE PURCHASE OF A LEGATO PRODUCT we are authorized to provide a enabler code.

   Please fax or mail the requests for enabler codes to Valerie Blondeau.

   The procedure to obtain permanent authorization codes remains unchanged.

   Installation managers:

   The enabler codes can be requested as soon you plan the installation and you have the SOL, no need to have an engineer stucked on site.

2. A new Legato manual is available:

   See Legato Backup Installation Guide (For Version 5) (Also available in pdf format). It covers all installation and configuration issues, as well as troubleshooting and licensing.

3. Upgrade from Legato 4.2.5 to Legato 5.1:

   Only an upgrade enabler code is needed, the existing registered products remain. We have one universal upgrade enabler code:   66f2e8-2c92a1-c0062c

   Once this code is entered (it will give 45 days of demo mode) it must be authorized like any other Legato product.
