Volume cannot be found |

Component |
AppleShare |

How to Reproduce the Problem |
Log on to an Appleshare server (NT, Mac or other) and check the mount volume at startup box. Then shut down the server, and restart the Mac. |
||
Symptoms |
A user running OS 9 checked Mount volume on startup for an Appleshare volume that doesn't exist anymore because it has been renamed. Now the dialog box which indicates the volume can't be found keeps showing up at boot time. Deleting Appleshare Prep (which usually solves this problem) didnt fix it. |
||
Causes and Workarounds |
It seems that in OS9 the information is no longer stored in the Appleshare Prep file, rather, an alias is created in the Servers" folder inside System Folder. Drag the unwanted alias to the Trash. |

Permanent Fix |
See above. |
