G3 macs get disconnected from network when connected to UNIX server via Helios Ethershare

Problem:

G3 macs get disconnected from Network in OS 8.6. I upgraded to 8.6, but my G3 Macintosh workstations are dropping like flies from time to time when it is connected to my UNIX server via Helios Ethershare. I get an AppleShare Server Message written to the desktop which says:

------------------------------------------------------------------
                    6/29/99 7:12 PM
"baesman-prtg (204.75.156.110) via TCP/IP"
The file server=B9s connection has unexpectedly closed down [7:10 PM on
                        6/29/99].
------------------------------------------------------------------

Workaround:

Yes there is a problem. It is between Helios and AppleShare that is installed with OS 8.6, it doesn't matter if it is a new G3. But, there is also a simple solution.

Immediate Workaround:

After upgrading/installing Mac OS 8.6 replace the "AppleShare" with version 3.8.1 (was installed with MacOS 8.5.x). I have enclosed AppleShare to save you the trouble of going back to the CD.

This fixes the immediate problem of the Mac disconnecting from the server.
