Lanplex 6000 S/W Loading

Lev Weissman
November 15, 1999

Prior to loading version 8.xx S/W on the Lanplex 6000 verify that the LMM+ module is at revision 1.21 or greater (for revision 1 modules) or revision 2.12 or greater (for revision 2 modules). To verify that you have an LMM+ installed, check that the module’s ejector tab is labeled “LMM+”. To determine the revision of your LMM+, connect a terminal to the serial port of the LMM+, login as administrator, enter system, display (modules installed, slot location and revision of board will be displayed).

Software can be installed from any host that is running ftp server software (Ripro server or Macintosh with NCSA Telnet application). Software is distributed on diskettes for both UNIX and DOS platforms. Upon completion of copying software to one of these two platforms it can then be transfered to a Macintosh.

System software gets loaded into the flash memory while the system is opperating. After the flash install is completed, a quick reboot puts the newly loaded software to use.
