Problem :
Today I visited a customer site with a SuperStack 3300. The customer told me that occasionally he needs to reset the switch to solve connection problems.
Last week I installed a 3300 switch. Today the customer called me reporting that the network performance is slow. All LEDs on the switch are flickering in a manner indicating a lot of network activity (which is not the case).
A customer in Brussels installed three new SuperStack switches (not from Scitex). This customer complains that following the SuperStack switches installation a server and printers sometimes disappear from the network.
Solution:
Revision on the switch MUST be 1.07 and up (But NOT 1.08)..
The problematic Firmware on was 1.06 (wrong one).. We loaded 1.07 (the pre-requisite in the release notes) and the switch performed faster a more reliably.
The older firmware causes a LOT of network disconnections and problems that will affect the total site on different computers.
