Network
Infastructure - Ethernet - 10Base-FL
Communication infastructure connection example
10Base -FL is a standard Ethernet
network 10Mbit/sec connection with standard fiber optic
cables. At a site in which the distance between users is
more than 100 meters, it is necessary to run fiber optic
cables that communicates over the 10 Base-FL (Ethernet on
fiber optic) protocol.
The maximum distance between nodes
is limited to 2km. The total length of network fiber must
not exceed 200km (124.2 miles).
It is necessary to install fiber
optic cable with the following breakdown per segment:

The fiber optic cable must have ST
connectors on both sides of the cable. These should be
connected to the fiber optic panel inside the
communication rack. On both sides of the fiber optic
cable there should be a hub for connecting to the fiber
optic cable (10Base-F module). The hub will translate the
fiber data to electronic data, which is then transferred
to the workstations over a twisted pair cable (10Base-T).
