Question |
I dial in and the modem does not pick up. I get “There is no answer” on my end. What should I check? | ||
Answer |
Check the modem first. Check the obvious stuff – cables power and all the other good stuff. If all of it looks good, check the lights on the modem. If you are dealing with a USR modem, you should see two solid lights: CS and TR. On a Diamond Supra (that’s the new blue modem) you should see two lights as well – the TR and PWR. If this is not the case, it is likely that the RAS service or Dialup Access is not setup correctly and needs to be checked out and possibly reinstalled or reconfigured (see the appropriate OS sections). |
