Symptoms |
Mac stations cannot connect to WIndows server using SMB | ||
Cause |
Windows XP and Windows 2000 computers must have at least one [non-hidden] shared folder. Sharing drives only is not adequate in Mac OS 10.3.3. If you do not have a shared folder (directory), the above error will be reported when you attempt to connect from a Mac. Note: The share name must be 8 characters or less. | ||
Solution |
Create a new share (or rename an existing share) that points to a folder, and ensure that the share name is 8 characters or less. | ||
