Product status

Kodak target is for PE840 to replace PE830 in January 2007.
Testing of the PE840 server is still ongoing. Preliminary results show an improvement in performance of the PE840 2.13 GHz Cor2Duo (Conroe 3050) over the PE830 3.0 GHz DualCore.

Notable differences between the PE840 and PE830:

• PE840 supports 1066 MHz FSB with Xeon 3050 Cor2Duo.
• PE840 has similar specs to the PE830, with support for Xeon 3050 Cor2Duo.
• Cerc Sata 1.5-6ch is replaced with PERC5i. Faster, but more expensive.
• SATA2 instead of SATA1 disks. SATA2 NCQ is still not supported. Only 3.0 GHz clock has been implemented.
• PE840 has 5v PCI slot, but last of series. Will support TSP board full-length card.
