The Systems Engineering Tools are designed to help with system configuration (UPS Calculator, Prinergy Rack Configurator, Dell RAM Selector). The latest version (setools.zip) is available on each of the Dell Downloads pages.

Dell has issued this firmware release to fix a potential issue with PERC 5 controllers where systems with multiple virtual disks on the same controller receiving different I/O workloads could become unresponsive. It also addresses the issue of a disk taking longer than normal to repair a bad block following a Patrol Read cycle, causing the controller to stall. Dell has discontinued the 3.2 GHz P4 Hyperthreaded Prescott processor and has replaced it with the Pentium D 3.4 GHz DualCore 945 processor. The 3.4 GHz GX620s (606-00115C-A) workstations will start shipping when existing stock and loaners have been replaced, and will be supplied until they are replaced by the Opti745 workstation. Dell Storage Services is part of the Dell Open Manage Server Administrator (OMSA) and replaces Array Manager as the primary means for managing a Dell PERC or CERC RAID. APC has announced that PowerChute Business Edition v6.x and earlier versions will cease to operate after July 27, 2005. Version 6.x must be removed and version 7.0.4 installed in its place. This document covers Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003 only. Windows NT4.0 users must contact APC directly for upgrade assistance.
