EF2000 Firmware Upgrade

Procedure

Before you begin:

  1. Back up all data.
  2. Unmount all logical disks from the host computer.
  3. Export all the disks on the EF2000 Raid.
  4. Select Flush controller(s) write cache to disk from the Miscellaneous Functions menu to flush the controller’s cache.
  5. Make sure no background operations such as consistency checks are running by selecting Display status of background jobs from the Miscellaneous Functions menu.
  6. Copy the firmware file to /opt/dam/ on the host computer.
  7. Check the current firmware version in Administrative Functions: ==> select View/Modify RAID controller configuration from the Miscellaneous Functions menu to check the current firmware version.

To upgrade the firmware:

  1. Select Flash new firmware onto controller(s) from the Miscellaneous Function menu.
  2. Read the notes on the screen before you proceed.
  3. When the system is ready, enter the filename of the image, and then click FLASH. DAM will then run through a simple verification to see if the image is the right size and type for your EF2000. If not, it will report the problem. The process will only take a few moments and DAM will display the Reset Controller screen upon completion.
  4. Click YES to reset controller (this will take some time). A controller reset is required in order to complete the firmware download process.
  5. After a successful reset, select View/Modify RAID controller configuration from the Miscellaneous Functions menu to check the current firmware version.
