AIX Settings for DLT 7000 Drives (Single or Jukebox)

Due to the fact that a ‘suspect’ saveset can cause nsrmmd to hung, a change in the AIX settings has to be done in order to give the drive/AIX/Legato enough time to properly handle errors.

smit chgtpe->Select the drive(s)->Verify and/or change the following options:

BLOCK size (0=variable length) [0]
Set timeout for the READ or WRITE command [9000]

This is very important in order to improve the retrieve reliability.
Please implement at all DLT7000 sites immediately.
