Calibrating a Qualstar 4000 Library


Description		This procedure describes how to calibrate a Qualstar 4000 library.

Product		Qualstar 4000 Library

Symptoms		Sometimes it is necessary to execute the CALIBRATE command. For example, the TLS must be recalibrated after new hardware is installed or if the model number is changed.

Solution		This procedure is from the Qualstar Technical Services manual. Enable the Private menu using "Update" as the password. For more information, refer to the Qualstar Technical Service Manual, Section 5.3.2. Choose CALIBRATE. You will be asked to withdraw all of the tapes from the library (you can do this from the front door). Ensure that the empty magazine(s) are in place. For more information, refer to the Qualstar Technical Service Manual, Section 5.4.1. Clear the password after the calibration to prevent unauthorized access to the Private commands. For more information, refer to the Qualstar Technical Service Manual, Section 5.3.3.
