AIT3-V Drive Installation

AIT3-V drives have been qualified for Prinergy. Sony has discontinued the AIT3-C drive and replaced it with the AIT3-V. To support the new drives, firmware version 2.23 or later is required in the TLS-4000 series libraries. The minimum approved AIT3-V drive firmware version is 0200_j15. The AIT3-V drives should have been shipped with DIP switches 1 to 7 set to ON, and DIP switch 8 set to OFF. (Note: Section 5.6.3.2 of the Qualstar TLS-4000 Installation and Operation Manual shows DIP switch settings for AIT3-C drives.

To be able to mix AIT3-C and AIT3-V drives in a Prinergy library, Creo recommends upgrading the AIT3-C firmware to version 0207 or later. Qualstar maintained the same part number for both series of drives, which can be identified as follows:

• Serial Numbers: AIT3-C: 209xxxx, AIT3-V: 135xxxx
• AIT-3C has blue LED lights, AIT3-V has green LED lights
• AIT3-C is labeled SDX-700C, AIT3-V is labeled SDX-700V
