UPS Home Page

An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is a device that allows your computer to keep running for at least a short time when the primary power source is lost. It also provides protection from power surges. A UPS contains a battery that "kicks in" when the device senses a loss of power from the primary source. If you are using the computer when the UPS notifies you of the power loss, you have time to save any data you are working on and exit gracefully before the secondary power source (the battery) runs out. When power surges occur, a UPS intercepts the surge so that it doesn't damage your computer.

The UPS Calculator Tool v5 lets you select a server and its connected peripheral devices. Based on individual VA ratings, the total VA is then calculated and factored for a proper safety margin, then this new value is compared against the available ratings of the currently sold UPS systems, this is then followed by the extraction of the proper model of UPS and its Kodak part number. The UPS Calculator tool is intended for the TSS group and other Kodak personnel seeking to source a UPS for their selected system configuration. This tool supports systems sold in North America, Japan, and International locations. You have to select country for the proper part number to be displayed since the tool defaults to North America once the Reset button is pressed.
