| Spot Color (Pantone Coated) |
| September 1998 Application Note #18 |
Quark 3.32 / 4.02
Selecting Pantone coated color from the library has a suffix of CVC.
An EPS file (created by a DTP application such as Photoshop for Duotone images, PageMaker, FreeHand etc.) which include such a spot color, might have the following problems when placed into QuarkXPress:
PS/M users:
All to Spot mode will work properly only when there is no special definition in the spot color Xtension and the placed Spot color is not used on other objects in the document.
Brisque users:
All to Spot mode will convert the placed EPS Spot color, to process (the CMYK equivalents).
Work around
PS/M and Brisque users:
Working with the Specific info mode (available in the RIP dialog), and merging the two similar spot separations into one (Pantone xxx CVC into PANTONE xxx CV), will guarantee the output of one spot separation only.
