Brisque 4.x Kodak Approval and Whisper connectivity via Lanc (PTOP)

An IBM patch (IY19582) that corrects TCP/IP address contains "0" - zero, caused a PTOP problem in Version 4, the IBM patch appear as an update called Upd_zero_IP_address.obj in the Brisque version 4.0.97 CD product 2.

Important: The current solution in case both options are required is to choose between IP = 0 or PTOP connectivity.

The system will automatically detect if both options are available during the Migration V3 to V4 process or during cdesci login as follows:

  1. A check was added into the v4ready and the following notification was added during the final login. V4ready script checks for IP addresses that include 0 and LANC (PTOP) interface, and if both exist the following message appears: Do you use Whisper or PS/2 PTOP connectivity, or Kodak Approval?
    • If Yes - Please re-configure the IP address or call Support
    • If No - Give a warning that you'll not be able to use PTOP and then continue the installation
  2. During final login, the system will check if the IP address includes 0 and LANC interface:
    • If IP=0 exists and no LANC, the system requests to insert a CD product 2 to install the Upd_zero_IP_address.obj
    • If IP=0 and LANC exist, the user is requested to re-configure the IP address or call Support
