InvertImage Option in Quark Express
I. Ben-Natan
March 19, 1997
After working with the "InvertImage" option using both PDF & PPD in QuarkExpress the following conclusions were reached:
In Quark if you activate the InvertImage (from the PageSetup dialog,
under option) actually you ask for the following procedure:
Turn each white area into black and the opposite. This option relates to white & black
areas only, color areas are not included.
What will actually happens is as follows:
Using both PPD & PDF from the PrinterType PageSetup dialog box, on a file that includes black rectangle on a white page - Rip result will be displayed as negative, the black rectangle will turn into white & the white page will turn into black. This is correct for cases of black and white.
For other cases i.e. when a color rectangle is also located in the file - The use of PDF will turn all page into black (including the black rectangle that we would have expected to become white). The use of the PPD would turn the color rectangle into black as well as the rest of the page, but the black rectangle will turn into white as expected.
This summarizes the use & differences of the PPD & the PDF. I hope this will help you & the customer in that issue.
