Please choose the appropriate method of installation from the following
three choices dependant on the Brisque's current software level.
note: If a problem is experienced during software loading, please backup the
log files before you reload.

Upgrading from version 3.X
Migration from V3 to V4 procedure you can find in the: Brisque Software
Installation Guide note: This document can be found in the EP2 Documentation Disk.
Upgrading from EP1 (4.0.85.5 or 4.0.85.5.1)
IMPORTANT NOTE
If you attempt to upgrade a Brisque to version 4.0.97 from any other Version
4 (especially version 4.0.85), you might fail with the following error message:
There was no data for 4330-08_AIX_ML in the fix database
In order to prevent this, prior to migrating from Version 4.0.85 to Version
4.0.97.X follow the below procedure:
Check the AIX level
Go to Smit--Software Installation and Maintanence--List Software and Related
Information--List Installed Software and Related Information--Show Fix
(APAR) Installation Status.
If the last level of AIX loaded was 4330-06_AIX_ML you will need to update
AIX before Upgrading to 4.0.97. This level is insufficient
in order to perform a migration.
If the last level of AIX loaded was 4330-08_AIX_ML,
there is no need to update AIX. Please continue to "B. Install the
Utils from the Brisque Product 4.0.97 CD1:"
Updating AIX:
Insert the AIX Add-on CD from 4.0.97
Load 4330-07_AIX_ML and 4330-08_AIX_ML via Scismit--Software Handling--Update
AIX Recommended Maintanence Level.
Proceed with Upgrade to 4.0.97.
Install the Utils from the Brisque Product 4.0.97 CD1:
1. Logout from the Brisque application
2. Login as root and type your password [ripro]
3. Type: cd /usr/local/es
4. Type: stop-atalk now
5. Insert the Brisque Product 4.0.97 CD1 into the CD drive.
6. Type smit install_latest and press (Enter)
7. Press [F4] to select the CD-ROM and press (Enter)
8. Press [F4], select Utils from the list and press (Enter)
9. Press Enter (twice)
Install Full Version:
1. Insert the Brisque Product 4.0.97 CD1 into the CD drive.
2. Login as root and type your password [ripro]
3. Type: scismit and press Enter, select Software Handling
>> Loading Full Software Version Press Enter twice to
start the operation.
4. Finish the installation by following the instructions on the screen.
Upgrading from Version 4.0.97.10 and up.
Upgrade to 4.0.97.17
1. Logout from the Brisque.
2. Login as root/ripro.
3. Insert Product CD 2 of 2 (4.0.97.17)
3. Type: scismit
4. Select Software Handling
5. Select Update Software Packages
6. Select F4 to list the Updates on the CD
7. Highlight Upd_Brisque4_97_1 and enter 3X
The system will automatically reboot when complete.
