QuarkXPress 6.1 warns about corrupt fonts when printing on Mac OS X [ID: 50610]

Product

  • Brisque®
  • PS/M

Symptoms

After you upgrade to QuarkXPress® 6.1, printing on Mac® OS® X sometimes causes error messages to appear regarding corrupted fonts.

QuarkXPress error message: The font [font name] used in the layout may be corrupt and may be substituted by Courier.

Cause

QuarkXPress now classifies a font as corrupt if the Font ID and Font Family ID are different. This may cause an error message to appear stating that a font (that is otherwise usable) is corrupt.

Solution

Reinstall QuarkXPress 6.0.
