Operating system

IBM AIX 4.2.1 and IBM 4.3.3

Symptoms

The spot color information does not pass correctly when a PostScript file is Normalized or Distilled to PDF 1.3 (Acrobat 4).

On the RIP window, in the Spot Colors box, selecting the All to Spot option changes the Spot information to 100% white.

Cause

On the RIP window, in the Spot Colors box, it is not possible to select the Specific option.

Brisque 4 - final production - will solve this problem.

Solution

In the RIP window, Spot Color box, select Specific.

The Brisque RIP (Extreme 1.34) is currently able to handle spot color information that is Normalized or Distilled to PDF 1.2 (Acrobat 3) if the Specific option is selected.
