Brisque 3.0.38 does not correctly recognize fonts downloaded via the FontDownloader

Product

Brisque 3.0.38 Update CD2

Platform

  • E30 - Victory

  • 43P-140 - Tiger1
  • 43P-150 - Tiger2
  • F50 - Wildcat (2 and 4 CPUs)

Operating system

  IBM AIX 4.2.1

Symptoms

Fonts downloaded to the Brisque via the FontDownloader are not recognized correctly.

This might lead to undesired font embedding when printing directly to the spooler. Or,  PostScript files that are printed without font inclusion might fail to undergo PreFlight Check and RIP.

Solution

After downloading the fonts to the Brisque, open the Fonts Library dialog box on the Brisque. This will update the library information and ensure correct font recognition by the spooler or PFC or RIP and so on.

Note: Do not forget that in order to download the fonts to Brisque 3.0 via the Font Downloader utility, the destination should be set to Disk0 (instead of the default Memory).
