In Brisque 3.0.38, the FAF process corrupts CopyDot files in EPS Spot composite format

Product

Brisque 3.0.38 + CD options 2

Platform

  • E30 - Victory

  • 43P-140 - Tiger1
  • 43P-150 - Tiger2
  • F50 - Wildcat (2 and 4 CPUs)

Operating system

IBM AIX 4.2.1

Symptoms

After RIP and  FAF of EPS Spot composite format, the Monoscan image is corrupted because of the FAF Process.

Cause

The FAF process corrupts CopyDot files in EPS Spot Composite format.

This problem occurs only with the new Monoscan 8 formats (EPS spot composite).

Final solution will be in Brisque version 4.0

Solution

Loading procedure for the Rip_Esko8.tar.Z

  1. Save the original psrip_V3. (found in /scitex/version/progs/ ).
  2. After you download Rip_Esko8.tar.Z to your Brisque, select the file with the mouse, and right- click uncompress, (after the uncompress process you will get a file called Rip_Esko.tar).
  3. Type tar -xvf Rip_Esko8.tar

This patch includes the new RIP, which will solve the problems with FAFing EPS Spot composite formats (new format of Monoscan 8).
