After new install of Brisque 3.0.38 or 4.0, you can only install one printer

Product

Brisque 3.0.38 Update CD 2 or Brisque 4.0

Platform

Version 3.0.38:

  • E30 - Victory

  • 43P-140 - Tiger1
  • 43P-150 - Tiger2
  • F50 - Wildcat (2 and 4 CPUs)

Version 4:

  • E30 - Victory
  • 43P-140 - Tiger1
  • 43P-150 - Tiger2
  • F50 - Wildcat (2 and 4 CPUs)
  • 44P-170 - Hammerhead
  • 6F1 - Condor (2,4 and 6 CPUs)

Operating system

IBM AIX 4.2.1 or IBM AIX 4.3.3

Symptoms

You cannot configure more than one printer after installing a new Brisque application. The Chooser only displays the last printer defined.

Cause

In the atalk.conf file (cat usr/local/es/conf/atalk.conf), a blank line appears after the atalkd: if=et1 line.

For example:

Problematic atalk.cong file:

# prgname: parm=val, parm="val with spaces", flag
#

afpsrv: nohomedir, noclip2g

atalkd: if=et1

papsrv:name=“brisque09_RIP100",printer="brisque09_RIP100”

brisque09_RIP100: key=“/dataVolumes/brisque09.1.0/RIP100/.spooler/key1”

Correct atalk.conf:

# prgname: parm=val, parm=“val with spaces”, flag

#

afpsrv: nohomedir, noclip2g

atalkd: if=et1

papsrv: name=“brisque09_RIP100”,printer=“brisque09_RIP100”

brisque09_RIP100: key=“/dataVolumes/brisque09.1.0/RIP100/.spooler/key1”

Solution

In the atalk.conf file, delete the blank line that appears after the atalkd: if=et1 line.
