Symptoms

Preflight errors appear even when OPI comments in the QuarkXPress Print dialog box are not selected.

Cause

This is a problem in QuarkXPress 5.x

When printing to postscript, QuarkXPress sometimes includes OPI comments in the postscript whether the OPI comments option is selected or not for specific images.

Solution

1. Turn off the OPI Xtension that ships with QuarkXPress 5.0.

2. Restart QuarkXPress.

The previously unavailable OPI print menu options become available.

3. Clear the OPI comments option.
