A Preps imposition job with ICF file becomes corrupt when the template's Compilation policy is set to delete input files on success or failure of the job, or an output process such as proofing or improofing fails, for example, if the template operations are:
Translate-ImpoCheck-Preview-Proof-Hold-PlateExpose

Cause

An output failure during proofing or improofing, such as a missing marker or a proofer communication error, deletes the following:

  • The ICF input file
  • The link between the imposition job and the .assg assignment file

This is known problem, and is currently under investigation.

Solution

  1. Delete the unusable job.
  2. From the Template Builder, open the template to use to input the ICF file.
  3. Click the Options button.
The Template Options dialog box appears.
  4. From the Completion policy's area, clear the Delete Input Files check boxes.
  5. Print the ICF again from the Macintosh, using the Preps application.
