Brisque creates a .job instead of a .pck job when LRS is used in Adobe Illustrator 10.0

Product

  Brisque™  4.0

Platform

  • E30—Victory
  • 43P-140—Tiger1
  • 43P-150—Tiger2
  • 44P-170—Hammerhead
  • F50—Wildcat (2 and 4 CPUs)
  • 6F1—Condor (2,4, and 6 CPUs)

Operating system

IBM® AIX 4.2.1 or IBM AIX 4.3.3

Symptoms

When LRS (Low Resolution Stepping) is used to create a PDF file in Adobe Illustrator® 10.0, Brisque creates a regular .job instead of a .pck packaging job.

Cause

Illustrator removes the link to the Brisque High Res file when it saves the job as a PDF file or when it imports the job (Illustrator's Place operation).

Solution

  1. In Illustrator, from the File menu, select the Place operation. The Place dialog box appears.
  2. Select the Link check box.
  3. Select the desired .eps file to import.
  4. Click the Place button. The .eps file imports into Illustrator.
  5. Edit the file as desired.
  6. Save the file in .eps (Encapsulated PostScript) format.
