Trendsetter VLF V-speed retraces and performs slowly during expose

Product

  Brisque™ 4.05.15

Platform

  • F50—Wildcat (2 and 4 CPUs)
  • 6F1—Condor (2, 4, and 6 CPUs)

Operating system

IBM® AIX 4.2.1 or IBM AIX 4.3.3

Machines affected

Trendsetter VLF (Very Large Format) V-speed platesetter

Symptoms

Trendsetter VLF V-speed retraces and performs slowly during the expose operation.

Cause

The TIFF cache is not active on Brisque.

The TIFF cache is a Brisque partition named ExposeSpool, which temporarily stores TIFF files that will be sent to the platesetter during expose.

Solution

Activate the TIFF cache to start automatically when Brisque is launched:

  1. In Brisque, open an AIX terminal window.

  2. At the AIX command line prompt, navigate to the directory /scitex/version/scripts/.

  3. Type set_tiff_Cash, and press Enter.

Note: In Brisque version 4.1, the TIFF cache is activated automatically when the Brisque application is run.
