  • Brisque 4.0
  • Brisque 4.1

Platform

  • E30—Victory
  • 43P–140—Tiger1
  • 43P–150—Tiger2

Brisque version 4.0 and 4.1:

  • E30—Victory
  • 43P–140—Tiger1
  • 43P–150—Tiger2
  • F50—Wildcat (2 and 4 CPUs)
  • 44P–170—Hammerhead
  • 6F1—Condor (2,4 and 6 CPUs)

Operating system

IBM® AIX 4.2.1 or IBM AIX 4.3.3

Symptoms

In Brisque, the RIP operation fails when processing a file with multiple master fonts that was created by QuarkXPress® 4.x.

Cause

The multiple master fonts are missing from the file that was created by QuarkXPress 4.x. The Brisque PreFlight operation incorrectly reports that the file contains embedded multiple master fonts. When the RIP operation is performed, the RIP fails because the multiple master fonts are missing.

Solution

  1. In QuarkXPress 4.x, print the job file to disk. A PostScript file is created.

  2. From the Mac, copy the printed PostScript file to Brisque.

  3. In Brisque, start the FontDownloader application, and download the multiple master fonts from the Mac.

  4. In Brisque, RIP the PostScript file.
