Symptoms

When exposing a job with the Dolev 800V, distorted dot shape patterns appear on the separations.

Cause

The following actions were performed on the screen set that was used to expose the job:

  1. The Adjust check box was cleared.
  2. The angle of one of the CMYK separations was changed to 45°.
  3. The Adjust check box was reselected to adjust the screen frequency values of the remaining separations.
However, one of the following actions occurred:
    • Brisque did not adjust the frequency values of the remaining separtions in the screen set.
    • Brisque replaced the frequency values of the remaining separations with incorrect values.

Thererfore, when this screen set is used to expose a job, distorted dot shape patterns appear.

Solution

Download and install the updated nspParams.dat file on Brisque:

  1. Download the nspParams.dat (3 K) file to a directory on Brisque.
  2. In Brisque, from the command line, use the CD command to navigate to the directory containing the downloaded nspParams.dat file.
  3. Copy the nspParams.dat file to /scitex/version/plt_extobj/tsp1.0/
  4. Restart Brisque.
  5. Edit the screen set to use for exposing the job.
  6. Expose the job on the Dolev 800V.
