Screen2Go file-naming convention for TIFF files changes after migrating from Brisque 4.0 to Brisque 4.1.76

Product

  • Brisque® 4.1.76
  • Brisque 4.0
  • Screen2Go

Platform

  • E30—Victory
  • 43P–140—Tiger1
  • 43P–150—Tiger2
  • F50—Wildcat (2 and 4 CPUs)
  • 44P–170—Hammerhead
  • 6F1—Condor (2,4, and 6 CPUs)

Operating system

IBM® AIX® 4.2.1 or 4.3.3

Symptoms

In Brisque 4.1.76, the convention for naming TIFF files that are generated by the Screen2Go operation changes after migrating from Brisque 4.0 to Brisque 4.1.76.

After migrating to the newer version, additional information is added to each file name.
The following examples display the different naming conventions used by each Brisque version:

  • Brisque version 4.0: xxx-L1-C.tif
  • Brisque version 4.1.76: xxx-S1-W1-F0-C.tif

Some customers request that we enable Brisque 4.1.76 to name TIFF files generated by Screen2Go using the same convention as Brisque 4.0. The solution below describes how to enable this functionality by editing the pltLmConst.ans system file.

Cause

The migration process changes the file-naming convention for TIFF files that are generated by the Screen2Go operation. This functionality exists in Brisque 4.1.76 because of requests recieved by a few of our customers.

Solution

To enable the Brisque 4.0 file-naming convention for Screen2Go-generated TIFF files:

  1. Navigate to the directory /scitex/version/pltLm/.
  2. Make a backup copy of the file pltLmConst.ans.
  3. Use the vi text editor to open the pltLmConst.ans file.
  4. Locate the row pltLm.Screen2Go*OldNameConvention.set: 0.
  5. Change the variable 0 to 1.
The new line should look as follows: pltLm.Screen2Go*OldNameConvention.set: 1.
  6. Save the file and exit from the vi text editor.
